PRSA-San Francisco Chapter Announces 2010 Northern California Silver and Bronze Anvil Award Winners

PRSA-SF Board Member Rhonda Silva Receives Lifetime Public Service Award

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - June 18, 2010) - The San Francisco Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA-SF) announced its annual Northern California Silver and Bronze Anvil Awards.

The Anvil Awards recognize excellence in public relations strategy and execution and take into account creativity in many forms -- from innovative planning to problem solving, to original and eye-catching campaigns with long-lasting impressions.

The awards were presented before a capacity crowd at Roe Nightclub in San Francisco. The event brought together some of the best and brightest in PR from the greater Bay Area. Five-Time Emmy Award Winner Tom Vacar of KTVU/Fox Channel 2 presented the awards, and cool jazz sounds were provided by Ladditude featuring Michael Ladd on the saxophone.

"These awards recognize outstanding achievements by our peers, and our chapter is proud of the local PR talent we represent," said Krysta Pellegrino, President of the PRSA-SF. "The winners represent a variety of different companies and organizations that reflect the diversity, expertise and creativity of PR practitioners in the Bay Area. Each one of them is a model for our industry." The awards were independently judged by the West Virginia chapter of PRSA.

The Lifetime Public Service Award was given to long-time, dedicated PRSA-SF Board member Rhonda Ellen Silva, with the "The Best in Show Award" going to Ketchum Public Relations for its creativity and excellence in multiple campaigns. The other winners (listed below) had much to celebrate as well. Rhonda began volunteering with the Chapter in 1983 as its hospitality chair and currently holds the position as VP of Programs & Hospitality, was an Assembly Delegate for three terms, and has served on the board for many years.
